Don Paolo is legitimately one of the best things about the Professor Layton series because he has no motivation besides "I fucking despise Layton for Reasons and therefore I'm going to make his life mildly inconvenient" and in the first game when he shows up and declares himself Layton's archnemesis Layton has no earthly clue who he is and I just think that's neat
