Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori revealed several details in the latest Famitsu interview:

  • Pokémon Sword and Shield will surpass the 1,000 Pokémon mark.
  • Masuda on the Decision to Limit Pokémon Sword and Shield to the Galar Pokedex: He didn’t like the decision, but it was needed. He wanted to bring every single Pokémon to Sword and Shield but they wanted to focus on higher quality animations. Ohmori mentions this idea was proposed for Pokémon Sun and Moon. 
  •  According to Masuda, there is still no decision taken on bringing non-Galar Pokémon to Pokémon Sword & Shield via updates. All Pokémon will still have an active role in Pokémon Home.
  • According to Masuda, Pokémon Home would have some playable features. Will also have connections to future games.
  • More details of Pokémon Home: Is the “Home” for all your Pokémon. If a Pokémon is compatible with a  game, it will leave for an adventure. If the Pokémon is not native to a certain region because is too cold for them, then they will stay in “Home” waiting for their next adventure.

ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZON DOESN’T LOCK HAIRSTYLE/FACIAL FEATURES TO GENDER

In previous Animal Crossing games, players were given a quick quiz in the beginning of the game to determine gender, and then a select set of options were available. According to Animal Crossing: New Horizons director Aya Kyogoku, that’s no longer the case. She shared the following info in an interview with Polygon.

“Right from the start, you’ll be able to choose the way you want to look. All the facial parts or hairstyles are all gender-free. So you can select from a pool of hairstyles and facial features and then they’re also changeable at any point in the game. So if you feel like a certain way one day, then you can make that change pretty easily.”

This includes hair color and style, eye color, facial features, you name it. This goes hand-in-hand with the ability to change skin color, which was mentioned in a separate feature we posted yesterday.
