I know this is supposed to be funny, but does it horrify anyone else that social media is being used by employers to monitor how happy we are to be slaves to capitalism and if we aren’t 1000% enthusiastic about having to work, you’re immediately terminated? He says “Good luck with your no money, no job life” but the implication is pretty clear–”Good luck starving to death because you didn’t live to serve me/my company” 

So if you express a feeling about your job/working/capitalism on your own social media space that doesn’t please your employers, you’re punished.

This is actually illegal in the US, by the way.
There’s a thing called the National Labor Relations Act that protects your right to complain about your job (the reasoning being if you can’t complain you can’t find other employees with similar complaints to start a union with).

If this happens to you, you should file a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board.

So? A company isn’t a person you can hurt the feelings of, it’s a thing which exists only to make profit at your expense. You shouldn’t need to put on a facade on social media to cater to your work, they already demand your time, now they want you to be grateful for it and publicly so.

hi again. on march 27 i was assaulted by my uber driver. since then i’ve reported the incident to uber, opened a criminal case, and started looking into my civil options. i’m working incredibly hard to do all i can to get some semblance of justice, but the negative effects this has had on me are weighing me down heavily. i’ve had to miss more work than i planned for, i’m at risk for failing my college classes and losing my financial aid, and i’m physically ill more days than i’m not. with all these stressors piling up, on top of medical bills and life expenses, it feels a bit like my life is falling apart and i don’t know what to do. fear is ruling me and i’m very tired. 

i received incredible support and kindness before and i hurt to be asking again, but if anyone is able to send donations my way so i can continue to heal and ease some of the burdens i’m dealing with, i can’t describe how much it would mean to me. anything will help and of course please don’t give if you can’t afford it. thank you from the bottom of my heart.
