Some more tidbits from SV, now that I'm done with the episode:
- Sandwich making, as we know provides various boosts. But it also boosts shiny rate.
- Very flexible character customization.
- Drowsy appears to be back:
- The game is noted to be pretty laggy/have performance issues.
- Let's Go autobattle mode rewards less EXP to the Pokémon on your team. Its main use is the collection of items.
- The Starmobile Pokémon has Speed Boost
- Day/Night cycle is like in PLA, not tied to the real-time clock
- Trainers no longer "lock eyes" with the player to initiate battles in Pokémon SV. Now you have to talk to them.
- There is no level scaling. So there will be areas with lower-level trainers/Pokémon and higher-level areas.
- Like in PLA you can change the movesets of your Pokémon from the menu at any time.
- Wiglett is not the main character. Boo. I have cancelled my preorder.
More tidbits!
- Street musicians like in Unova are back
- Areas numbered on map, likely corresponding to difficulty
- Battle friends on overworld while others can take pictures/emote.
- No hair options or clothing gender-locked. I think it was already leaked there's no skirts or dresses tho, so that's not surprising. Pants and shorts are unisex.
- Pokémon can travel in groups, but when you trigger the battle, it's 1v1.
- NPC sidequests/challenges.
- By using auto battles, your Pokémon will fight and try to defeat everything it encounters, even if they are shiny Pokémon. KEEP AN EYE ON THINGS.
- In total in Paldea you can get 18 medals, one for each type. 8 of them are obtained in the Gyms while the 10 are obtained doing the other two stories. Kind of reminds me of this translation error from back in the SwSh's pre-release:
- Raid partner AI "much better" than SwSh. Hopefully our partner selection is better too. Magikarp, Wobbuffet, that Solrock that was useless on purpose.
- Auto-heal Pokémon from menu (letting the game auto select from your items)
