Ace Attorney fic where Mia’s ghost just hangs around the office and helps out. Apollo and Athena hear Phoenix talking to himself down the hall like “haha! oh yeah, thanks Mia!” and they think he’s just remembering some sage words of advice she once gave him.
Two weeks later Apollo’s scouring evidence with Athena for an upcoming case and he’s been at it for hours with no luck when he hears a voice say “look at the date on the receipt” and everything starts to click into place.
“Nice catch, Athena!” he chirps, not looking up. The office goes quiet.
“…I didn’t find anything,” Athena says.
Apollo freezes.
Trucy’s missing props show up in the hall just as she’s about to leave. People get sprayed by the bathroom sink if the houseplants (particularly Charley) aren’t tended. Evidence vanishes, turns up when it’s needed. Lights turn themselves off when attorneys fall asleep at their desks. Mia looks after them. They make sure to thank her when she visits in Maya’s form.
