The New Porn Blogs

Something that i’ve seen happening in my notifications this week is a new kind of porn blog interacting with my posts, and i want to explain WHY its so important to block them.

In the past all that would happen if a porn blog would follow you is just that, they’d follow you. It was all to do with google algorithyms where if a porn blog was shown as ‘linked’ or following a legitimate site/blog then it increased the place they came in the google searches. Great if you are one of those scam websites that gets people to click on links that either plant malware or are just shady as fuck.
Porn blogs were also ~~sometimes~~ shut down without warning so all the scammers hard work was over and gone. Good for us, not good for them.
Most of these blogs were just stolen gifs/videos from other porn blogs anyway. If you thought gif stealing was bad/rife in the geek/nerd fandoms, just have a peep at the porn blogs.

Well a lot of the search engines etc caught onto this and built controls into their software, so they found a new way of getting (or at least trying to get) people to click on links to take them off of the tumblr site. This is by finding a random post from a legitimate blogger, which could be about anything, and either deleting the entire content of the post and adding in some ridiculous comment like ‘For more fun follow this link’ with a hyperlink off of tumblr, or if its a photo that in any way is either fun/a meme/or a little nsfw, they keep that in place and just add their link like above. Scroll down their blog and literally every single post will be a reblog and have exactly the same comment on, getting you to click and take you off site.

What does this matter i hear you ask? Well, when it comes to reporting a post, it helps to confuse the tumblr bots/staff as to what’s being reported… the comment or the original post? This means that when a bunch of posts are reported, they are all coming from different originators, this will make tumblr staff’s life even harder, and legitimate blogs are at risk of someone hitting ‘deactivate blog’ in the admin settings, meaning YOU COULD LOOSE YOUR ENTIRE BLOG BECAUSE SOME ASSHOLE PORN BOT REBLOGGED FROM YOU.

So don’t ignore this kind of thing, if you see one of these stupid reblogs (the bots very rarely actually follow you anymore), BLOCK THEM RIGHT THERE AND THEN.

yup, and this is whats happening to me. And i hope to GOD tumblr staff does NOT deactivate my blog by accident.

I’ve been debating going to the person whose blog they reblogged MY post from and telling them so they could ALSO block the porn blog, but i was thinking… there’s no way they didn’t already do that, right?

Sadly, this isn’t new on tumblr. A friend of mine here, and big giffer had a string of pr0n blogs laste year reposting her gifsets (fandom kind) with links to webcam/pron sites, they even used the original tags she used in her posts. Added to this, they were adding click baits to posts reblogged from her. She was dealing with at LEAST 10 reposts and post hijacking per DAY.

Regarding reporting, ONLY the original creator can report, they WON’T listen to anyone who isn’t the party being wronged, so if you see a post like that, contact the OP, send them the link to the stolen/hijacked post and they’ll report it.

This misuse of posts is against Tumblr’s own Community Guidelines under Non-Genuine Social Gesture Schemes as well as Deceptive or Fraudulent Links – although their report form doesn’t give OPs the option to choose these reasons for the report (correction: the second on is under Misappropriation). As far as I can tell, even though I’ve reported and blocked my hijacked content, sometimes up to 10 a day for weeks, nothing has been done about it.

They typically put all porn tags in their reblog as clickbait, like #instagay #bareback #gayxxx #like4like #instadaily #gayboys on random posts that have no sexual content, and their sites are full of external links. They often work in a chain of several reblogs. I find it a huge nuisance since I’m forced to deal with these hardcore porn sites every day when I’m really just here to participate in fandom.

PLEASE BLOCK any you see and any in the chain and don’t click their links! And please signal boost to help give this higher priority for @staff.

she’s a literal celestial light and/or pure burning energy–gems have concentrated physical forms, and yes, they are made of light–but it’s light that is contained and regulated. white diamond seems like she is out of control, almost like there’s too much of her for any other being to handle–and the scope of her power seems as if, either accidentally or purposefully, it’s literally torn homeworld apart.

again, she isn’t like a gem, and gems come from the ground–diamonds too. she probably didn’t emerge from a planet like every other gem. where else could she have come from? ah yes, space.

hey so my name is jake!! i’m a blasian trans gay dude and a while back i was diagnosed with hashimoto’s thyroiditis (an autoimmune disease that makes my body attack my thyroid for presumably no reason). so on december 15th, i had the surgery to get rid of my left thyroid lobe. during surgery, they found that my left lobe had 3-5 cancerous tumors and they removed my whole thyroid instead of just half. (the pics above are all the proof i have atm due to the fact that we haven’t gotten the paperwork back from the hospital)

so, long story short i still have cancer in my system, which is why i need to go through radiation therapy for it. due to the fact that my medicine (levothyroxine) can promote cancerous cells to spread & duplicate faster whencombined with the radiation therapy (don’t ask me how i don’t know) my surgeon told me that i should stay off of my medication so that my cancer doesn’t spread to my lymph nodes… and the lymph node cancer 5-year survival rate is only about 25%… which is really fucking scary

but the thing is: i can only survive 21 days without a thyroid and the horomones the thyroid gives, and my surgery happened 5 days ago.

i really cannot afford therapy, we can barely afford food rn. the surgery & numerous doctors visits that got me here took $13k+ from us, and radiation therapy will take at least another thousand from us and we really can’t do that. so unless i raise at least another 2k in the next few weeks, i’ll either die or be forced to deal with more cancer in my system which will inevitably kill me.

tl;dr: i have 16 days to raise $2k+ for post-cancer radiation therapy or i might actually die.
