There is a big difference between WHO and PETA
WHO:
- Monitors public and global heath risks and works with countries to improve conditions to halt the spread of infectious diseases.
- Provides information to countries on how to stop the spread of some diseases. Also addresses mental and social health.
- Is flexible and will change to support new data, such as now no longer classifying Trans folks as mentally ill.
- Is not a perfect organization, but is really trying their best to monitor and improve the lives of human beings.
- Is partially responsible for the infection drop of some preventable diseases, and is assisting in the complete eradication of Dracunculiasis. (This is a parasite, please do not google if you are sensitive to parasitic worms and the like.)
- You can look on their website for all kinds of information that is kept up to date as new data is gathered.
PETA:
- Is looking for total animal liberation, which involves NO: Pets, animal products such as leather or milk, animal based medicines and antivenom (that means no insulin, rattlesnake antivenom, vaccines, animal testing for drugs, ect), zoos, animal sanctuaries, ect. However in an insane move of hypocrisy one member higher up still uses pig based insulin because ‘she has to stay alive to help the animals’
- Supports terrorism and are terrorists themselves.
- Kills around 90% of the animals they ‘rescue’.
- Funds the Animal Liberation Front, which burns down/bombs laboratories and farms and attempts to threaten scientists who work with animals in the medical fields
- out right lies such as claiming that milk causes autism and that sheep are mutilated when sheered for wool
- compares farm animals to horrible real life events such as the Holocaust and concentration camps
- pays people to perform the shocking ‘skinned alive farm foxes/ cruel farms’ type videos so they can film it and use it as propaganda
- frees farm animals from their farms only for them all to starve to death because they have no idea how to survive in the wild
- harasses children with things such as ‘your mommy kills animals’ pamphlets
- Relies on shock value and gore to push their agenda
- believes everyone should be vegan or just outright fucking starve.
- Harasses and targets native people who rely on hunting to survive like the Inuit who live in the arctic north where plants are incredibly rare. Also harasses and targets those who hunt for food.
- I cannot even begin to list all the fucked up things PETA has done here is an article.
In a nutshell, WHO is an imperfect organization that does honestly want to help people while PETA is out for their own agenda which benefits nobody, animal and human alike.
I discovered something useful today, taking breaks or exercising never helps me but THIS does, sharing to save a life
I just found out that some pro artists that work for companies like Dreamworks etc sometimes hold their pens this or similar way so it gotta work. Recently I spent 5 days on drawing for long periods of time (we talk about min 5 hours in one go to max 12 hours long crunch) and not once did my hand bother me.
For any artist friendos ???
SAVE A (HAND’S) LIFE
@vaard @teechew @spookgeist @nidarosis Help your hands!!
I tend to get pain in my pinky and ring fingers, and I do this with them instead. It helps!
I also get pain and inflammation at my elbow, on the outside. this is called lateral epicondylitis, (medial epicondylitis is on the inside) and applying pressure to the area to reduce inflammation mitigates that.
Do not underestimate the importance of a good setup! Back support, a proper desk or drafting table, the monitor at eye level, the desk at elbow level, a larger or ergonomic pen grip, and regular stretching (and sometimes icing) can all help prevent injuries! Taking breaks helps too, but if you can’t, you can also switch up the type of work you do (for example, spacing out inking) to avoid straining yourself. Art is a physical job and you can get injured from it. Please take care of your bodies!

@incorrectsaltboyquotes this is why I love our conversations im still yelling
The biggest puzzle of all.

Reposts, Recolours and Excuses
“Credits to the artist” is not enough.
“But the signature/ watermark is cropped so I don’t know whose artwork it is”. If it’s unclear who the artist is, don’t repost.
“I didn’t crop this. I reposted this edit from somewhere else”. If it’s clear that the artwork has been cropped and/or edited, don’t repost.
“If the artist doesn’t want their work to be reposted, maybe they shouldn’t post it at all”. No comment.
This has been getting my attention again lately. Many more people are reposting my art, even though it is very clear that the artworks they repost are cropped so that you can’t see my signature/ watermark. And this is happening to many other artists as well!
Some reposters are very happy about the attention they’re getting (This person didn’t mention my name and cropped my signature and watermark) :

Some reposters are aggressive about it:

And others believe that recolouring isn’t theft:

It’s not fair to the artist.
Like I said
before, be fair and give credit where credit is due. Cropping the signature/watermark or claiming the artwork as your own is probably the most insulting thing you can do.
An artist doesn’t have to explicitly mention in every single post that they don’t want people to crop/edit/recolour/etc their work.
It doesn’t take a lot to ask beforehand, add a link and mention a name. Don’t be lazy, and respect the artist.
Repost culture needs to end. I know I’ve said this a lot before, but it really is problematic for the artist.
We artists post our artwork online hoping for feedback as well as sharing our talent and skill and ideas with the fandom. It’s not our fault if some jealous bean out there decides to steal our work, crop out our watermarks, and reposts it. We are not the bad guy when we decide we’re going to ask these jealous beans to remove our art. It’s not our fault these jealous beans decide to throw a huge fantrum and start pissing and moaning about how they’re the victim of online bullying.
I have enough experience with this kind of bullshit in the Lion King fandom to write a fucking BOOK detailing the art thieves reactions!
For example: One such jealous bean decided they were going to crop out TsaoShin’s watermark and proceeded to post it with a quote from TLK. Not 24 hours later after having been asked POLITELY by three people, that they posted a baww journal proclaiming how they were being bullied. This bean even accused my friend for bullying her when she was warning the fandom about the bean’s abusive behavior. Within that same day the jealous bean proceeded to make two more baww journals whining about how they were a victim. My friend eventually got her journals and status posts removed because they were pitching such a huge fantrum that people believed the bean’s whining.
Another fun example: A popufur TLK fan artist decided they were going to risk posting a pic too close for comfort to another popular fan art piece that is constantly stolen and reposted. Two people told them it was too close for comfort. But what does this person do? They target me and make a baww journal calling me out. Because I had posted my disgust with what she has done on Tumblr. That was a very fun experience. It showed me just what a cunt that person was and proved that just because an artist has nice art, they can be a toxic and spiteful individual behind that sweet and innocent exterior of theirs. It also showed me who would rather kiss her ass than stand up for the original artist they ripped off. Which disgusted me to no end.
Both of these examples happened over the course of the beginning of this year.
