How am I supposed to wake up to news like this and not believe war of some variety is coming, after the DoJ stripping protections for transgender students specifically very early in the administration, the DoJ saying existing rules about sex stereotryping and sex discrimination don’t necessarily apply to LGBT people, Pence’s official support of conversion therapy in Indiana, etc.

IMPORTANT NEWS, PLEASE READ AND SPREAD

Word coming from a comrade out of Ohio that fascists are putting up explicitly anti-LGBT posters referencing and encouraging suicide of LGBT people at Cleveland State University and that the administration is allowing this blatant hate speech as “free speech.” There is currently a massive emboldening happening on the far right- these people are not afraid to speak out as they once were, and we need to bash back and put these people back in their place- online forums and 6 feet under. Pictures attached, please be aware they are potentially upsetting:

That sounds awesome, I know! But…I checked out the site, and it really rubbed me the wrong way. Lemme show you why:

I recognized some of the photos, so I decided to do a reverse image search on a few. I started with this one; as you can see, it is listed on their site for $20.99.

Here are the results of the reverse search:

Now, AliExpress and DHgate are sites where you can get really lovely-looking clothes/whatever for pretty dang cheap. Personally, I don’t use them, because I worry about why things are so cheap! Where are they coming from? What are the working conditions like, ya know? And they’ve had their fair share of selling fake or defective items. Anywho, I clicked on an AliExpress link…

Look, I know that tons of people order things for cheap, and then sell them for nearly double the price, but when your marketing sounds like this:

“provides trendy clothing for affordable prices.” …How is almost-doubling the cost “affordable”????
“We have manufacturers and warehouses in multiple contries which allow us to provide low priced products…” You don’t have anything, though. Those manufacturers and warehouses aren’t making these things specifically for your shop.

Binders like this, and their others, are just as damaging as ace bandages!!!!! They have 32K instagram followers; 21K facebook followers. Young kids are buying these harmful binders!

Idk, y’all. Maybe I’m making something out of nothing, but it sure feels like the trans//gender non-comforming community is being targeted and ripped off.
