you know i’ve had this invisible ghost house in my town since october last year called “villager 1 house” …but i have no villager 1 slot in the editor.
before it happened, i might’ve street passed someone while whitney (the house in the middle) was planning to move out (without me knowing) because once she moved out two new villagers moved in but it created that unassigned house

the properties of the building are the same as any other – you can’t walk through it, net can make contact with the sides, shovel bounces back when hitting it, and throwing beans bounce off of it. the one thing that makes it different is that you cannot open it or go inside, as there is no door, and there is no sign on the left where the name of a villager would be. there’s no interactivity
if you tap the house in the middle or pull out the legends tab the game crashes. but someone was able to run my save file in citra which handles the errors much better and we can see that, had the game not crashed, it’s LITERALLY a ghost house

i noticed since i got that thing, no villager has asked to move out and none have moved in presumably because the game thinks a villager is in moving in/out mode but it’s continuous
even after that person added villager 1 via hexidecimal editing, the building “villager 1 house” still doesn’t register with that villager
this sounds like some animal crossing creepypasta my-game-is-haunted crap but it literally is and you can see it for yourself. actually it might be really fucking on point because incidentally the problem building happens to be the one RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the rest of the houses, and no one can leave or move in. it’s been bothering me since october but i figured i could work with it somehow. this isnt on purpose and it really just struck me that this could be a hit dream address.
heres my card, i just updated the address. yes it fucking looks like this in the game leave me alone

note that your game will crash if you tap the middle house icon or pull out the legend menu on the map screen. i don’t think this is harmful to your savefile though but it’s shocking for cfw users who get a bunch of lines of failed code (in that case just reboot)
go nuts i guess. @ me in screenshots
