“We rescued two ferrets about two years ago, who were in pretty bad shape. They were kept in a cheap ferret cage with no ramps, and shavings at the bottom. They were a mess, they stank, and looked very unhealthy. We took them both to the vet, and Smooches was diagnosed with insulinoma, and Tink had a hormone imbalance. We got medication for Smooches, and an implant for Tink. We ended up loosing Smooches after about 8 months due to her medical issues, but we still have Tink.
The Implant was supposed to last for two years, and that two years is up. She has gone back to staying awake all the time, and has massive hair loss. Tink has always been an enjoyable ferret, very playful and loving.
I had planned on getting treatment done this month, but my back finally gave out on me (Army vet, at least 10 herniated discs, stenosis in multiple spots, 1 dessicated disc… waiting on a descision from the VA), and I can no longer work. I hate asking, but please help. Our animals are the only babies we can have, and their needs come first.“
