doing this with anything is an awful hit, but god, there are so many youtube accounts that serve as the last existing records of so many dead people's voices. feels especially perverse

i think fanart/art based entirely around fictional characters/people has rotten some peoples brains when it comes to looking at abstract and modern art where if there isnt a person or a notable object in the image then they consider it ''boring'' because their brain has been fed on childrens cartoons and comic books for so long that they dont get that one of the very common things you do in a museum is look at a piece of art and think to yourself how you feel about it and that, if you feel nothing, that in and of itself is still a reaction
like im no where near knowledgable enough on art on any scale or basis to talk about anything deeper than a pot hole puddle on art but this has to be a great example of what i mean by '' some people need objects on a painting to make it engaging to them because media has rotted their ability to conceptualize art in any other way''
like 100% this art is eliciting a reaction from you and its anger, confusion, possibly a sense of shame because you feel like youre not getting something and so you need to ''well actually this is bad because i dont get it'' the image and i think thats really like only even more solid argument for why art like this is so good. because it makes people who are unable to understand it react so intensly in a way that a drawing of a big titty anime girl holding a star up wont quite get out of you
