Daily reminder for everyone that, as a teenager, a 3 year age gap can be a huge difference. It doesn’t seem like much but when considering teenagers, it is. It very much is a big difference. Let’s use a 16 and 19 year old as an example. A 16 year old and a 19 year old are literally on totally different mental lengths— the 16 year old is only just maturing and the 19 year old has already had a full year of experience as a legal adult. That’s a big difference.

To teenagers who are shipping other teenagers with grown adults— it’s really not a good thing. It’s not. Many of you are looking at people who are only a single year above you in your academical environment and thinking about how much more mature and calmer they are, and that’s only counting that single year. You cannot accept the ideology that grown adults are allowed to be in relationships with teenagers. Acknowledge that normalizing this sort of ideology is Not Okay instead of simply trying to remove yourself from blame by claiming “it’s only fictional.” Fiction can hurt people. It hurt me. And having this ideology can hurt you, too.
