Birb help needed

Ive had two untamed zebra finches for the last eight years, a male and a female. They were mated, had a few eggs but the female neglected them and laid them on the cage floor. That was a long time ago though.

Yesterday, the female passed away. The male is extremely healthy and chipper; he was a lot younger then the female. I am going to get him a new friend soon, I read online its best to get a second male.

Their cage is about four feet tall, three feet wide, and two feet deep, with lots of toys.

My question is, whatnwould be the best way to go about introducing the new bird so the older one doesnt get stressed or fight? He’s only gotten in a fight once before and it was about a year after I got them. I don’t think I have any smaller cages and I don’t have the money for it; but I could make something temporary out of cardboard. Please help, I want to make sure both the new and old birds are happy.

The article says that the guidelines have been updated. Instead of asking if you’re a man that’s had sex with another man in the past 3 months it asks everyone regardless of gender if they’ve had anal sex with a new partner or if they’ve had anal sex with multiple partners in the past 3 months.

This both opens up blood donation to msm in exclusive relationships or who don’t have anal sex and more accurately identifies hiv risk from people who aren’t msm. This is exactly the sort of guidelines we’ve been fighting for for years. This is a major win for both gay rights and blood donation in the US. Now a bunch of people who couldn’t donate before can donate now.
