Okay so I’ve heard time and time again different headcanons on whether or not the bottle of juice in AA4 was grape juice or wine. And here’s what I think it is:

I feel as though it was actually JUST grape juice. Of course, we know that it was grape juice in both the Japanese and the localized version. And I love the idea that Phoenix avoided alcohol for Trucy’s sake. However, there’s another reason that I feel like not many people know: Grape juice helps alleviate back pain and is a natural muscle relaxant.

Now we know that Phoenix has chronic back pain. I would think the reason he’s drinking grape juice is to alleviate that pain and also cause he likes the taste. Please note the Inga was ALSO drinking grape juice and he too canonically had back pain.

Overall, it think they chose to make the bottle look like wine as a joke or reference to drinking that the audience can recognize. However, canonically, I really feel it’s just grape juice. 😅
