the “___ change my mind” guy sitting at a desk is Steven Crowder who is literally a deep conservative “comedian” and the biggest transphobe of 2018 so can we NOT use that meme anymore thanks. he literally calls trans people tr**** in some of his videos and refers to caitlyn jenner (I may not like her but Christ) as a transgender f@scist because she transitioned and refers to her transitioning as “going full #sjw.” this meme is cancelled and not funny. use google if you don’t believe me. bye
yeah actually i did some research (googling. i googled) and this is what the the original image was: (as opposed to what i first saw it as and what other might have, and had assumed that was the real one)
he does stuff like that a lot;
so yeah Yikes.
Shit, I just looked him up as well.
Fucking
YIKES, meme cancelled.
FYI. Don’t reblog or make any more memes from this guy. Fucking creep.
we know hes a shitty person, the whole reason the meme started was to make fun of him
While it’s not the meme I’m best comfortable with, it’s making a mockery of his disingenuous posturing and I am all for that.
I gotta agree with @tharook here. Making fun of Crowder’s posturing and psuedo-intellectual bullshit more than makes the meme worth it.
Plus there’s a good chance that the next time he shows up at a college with a “Change My Mind” sign, all the college students will burst out laughing, so that’s good.
I AM NOT
A MEME
Change my Mind
Exactly. turning him into a viral joke is a powerful way of disenfranchizing him to the general population who are unaware of him. if the joke gets to people first, they will dismiss him as that meme guy if they come across him and are not already polarized one way or another on the issue
OP has fallen victim to the concept of moral contagion, where interacting with the Bad Thing in any way taints you spiritually. this is magical thinking and is not real.
please, please mock the smug assholes of the world. meme them hard.
There’s this thing called Semiotic Disobedience. It’s usually applied to vandalism and artists taking corporate property (logos, slogans, etc) and turning them against the original intent. The basic idea is, there’s someone giving you A Thing. You don’t like The Thing. But they’re gonna shove it down your throat. The most effective way to take control of that situation is to take The Thing and make it your own.
