I am not surprised that adidas would defend Kanye on this.
They, after all, very nearly marketed shoes with ankle shackles.

These legitimately came within a month of getting a full release, and were only stopped when a mass public boycott against the entire brand almost happened.

This is a company that essentially tried to make money off the imagery of slavery.
