A couple people have asked me to piece together all the confirmed information about the recently announced Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go! Eevee. I’ll probably be editing this list as more information is made available.
All of the confirmed information comes from Gamefreak/Nintendo themselves or trusted sources that were watching the conference or participated in the Q&A held after the conference.

Confirmed Pokemon Let’s Go! Gameplay Info:
- The games take place in the Kanto region.
- There will only be the first 151 Pokemon + some Alolan forms.
- There will be no online play. Only wireless features.
- Trading and battling with friends is still possible but requires wireless connection.
- Pokemon following behind you is a returning feature.
- There will be no wild Pokemon battles.
- Catching Pokemon is similar to how you catch Pokemon in Pokemon GO.
- There is local 2 player Co-Op.
- Co-Op makes catching Pokemon easier.
- You’ll not be able to evolve your starter Pokemon.
- The storyline will not take you to the Johto region.
- No HMs
- You can box your Pikachu/Eevee but boxes work differently now. Your character has a Pokemon box in their bag.
- Leveling and training your Pokemon is different/simplified.
Confirmed Let’s Go! Basic Info:
- Pokemon Let’s Go! is not a remake of Yellow. Gamefreak confirmed that they are only based off of Yellow.
- At the time of questioning, they weren’t able to say anything about character customization.
- The special Pokemon mentioned in the trailer is a never-before-seen Pokemon.
- Each account on your Switch can have a save file. Which means you don’t need to buy another cartridge if you have siblings.
- Let’s Go! was designed to appeal to a broader audience
- The core RPG Pokemon title that was mentioned during Nintendo E3 2017 presentation is NOT Pokemon Let’s Go!
- Let’s Go! was designed with gaming at home in mind.
- Let’s Go’s release date is November 16th, worldwide.
Confirmed Pokemon GO Info:
- Pokemon Let’s Go! can communicate with your Pokemon GO account via bluetooth.
- Those who play both Pokemon GO and Let’s Go! will be rewarded.
- You can bring your Pokemon from your GO account to your Let’s Go! save file.
- Event Pokemon caught on Pokemon GO cannot be transferred to Let’s Go!
- The option to transfer Pokemon from GO to Let’s Go! appear halfway through the storyline of Let’s Go!
Confirmed Pokeball Accessory Info:
- The accessory will release on the same day as Let’s Go!
- No price point has been announced.
- Nintendo/Gamefreak has plans for the Pokeball accessory beyond Let’s Go! and Pokemon GO.
- They view the device as the next generation of the GO Plus.
Confirmed Pokemon 2019 Switch Info:
- The 2019 Switch game is the game that was mentioned during Nintendo’s E3 2017 Direct.
- Pokemon 2019 has been in development before the Switch was released.
- Pokemon 2019 is a core RPG like XY and Sun/Moon.
- Gamefreak has handheld gameplay in mind while developing Pokemon 2019.
