Who puts up the holiday decorations?

•Hershel! Randall does all his shopping last minute, so he’s gotta hurry out before everywhere gets too crowded. So, in the meantime, Hershel puts up all the decorations. There was an exception one year when Hershel threw out his back putting Christmas lights on the house, and Randall begrudgingly put up decorations for him. It looked subpar that year, with a giant ball of tangled lights dangling from the center of their rooftop.



Who eats the others uneaten pizza crusts?

•Hershel, believe it or not - Randall is picky and claims he doesn’t like the crusts, and though Hershel doesn’t eat much, he’ll take Randall’s crusts and eat them, almost entirely to prove a point. “They’re the same as the rest of the pizza, Randall–” “Oh hush, prof.”



Who always forgets to pick up their wet towels in the bathroom?

•Randall - but ONLY when he’s excited for something later in the day. Usually, this happens the morning before an archaeological dig or a presentation he’s giving. Hershel always gets annoyed by this, and puts the wet towels on Randall’s pillow. (He apologizes for it later, and Randall playfully bops his shoulder and admits he deserves it.)



Who talks smack while playing video games?

•Randall!!!! He’s such a pottymouth when it comes to games that he’s not allowed to play when Luke comes over. Sometimes he throws the controllers. Hershel rarely plays with him because of this.



Who watches Jeopardy and calls out the answers?

•Both of them! They get SOOOOO excited over Jeopardy, it’s a whole family event. They even keep their own scores, usually beating at least two, if not all three, of the contestants on TV. Whoever beats the other has to do the dishes from supper that night.



Who is more likely to cry over a sad book or movie?

•Hershel. He’s a lot more open with his emotions around Randall, and he likes the intimacy of snuggling close to him anyway. Randall always playfully chides him for it at first, but very soon afterwards, he tucks Hershel’s head into his chest and removes his hat and nestles himself against Hershel’s hair. (He always liked it long and puffy, but he makes do.)



Who sings along with the radio?

•Randall! His voice isn’t that great, but he makes Hershel laugh, sometimes substituting lyrics or purposely missing notes. On the rare occasion that Hershel sings, Randall is left gobsmacked and speechless. The first time Hershel sang, Randall had to pull over just to smooch him.



Who falls asleep on the other?

•It depends on the situation! Hershel has a tendency to work himself to exhaustion, and fall asleep wherever he’s working, while Randall has a tendency to purposely nap in odd places. Sometimes, Hershel will start nodding off and Randall will notice, and he’ll pull over a blanket and just pull Hershel atop him and nap like that for a while.
