Two things: One, they still refuse to show Ruby and Sapphire kissing on the lips, something both Clarence and Star vs (possibly Gumball too even if we discount the ones done for comedy effect) have actually done, and Two, where's Peridot?????

I personally dont care who “got there first”, but honestly, if people think some random background characters that appear for 2 seconds with no names like the examples i keep getting from Star vs and We Bare Bears are even remotely comparable to the Rupphire relationship, then they obviously miss the point here.

Y’know, Friends (the series) had plenty of gay kisses on it. is this show the gay representation we all craved for? no. Gay people dont want to see someone on screen kissing someone else of the same gender. we look for characters we can relate to, for personalities we can get attached to, for us to be represented as PEOPLE,  fully realized human beings. Non of the other examples gave us that, whether they had same sex couples on their shows kiss or get married, it never meant anything. not like Ruby and Sapphire do, not like Pearl and Rose do. we’re talking about MAIN characters that have personalities beyond the fact that theyre gay, or are in a gay relationship.

Trying to rob SU of its huge impact by bringing up these examples is laughable to me. I’m not saying that the other shows arent worth mentioning, but it’s definitely not what the gay community is looking for. You can clearly tell SU was written by a woman who is from the LGBT community, not just trying to cater to us without committing like most shows do.
