#019.5 - Rattata are a very hardy species, and can live wherever they can find food; which they search for continuously. This rodent’s sharp teeth grow continuously, and they must gnaw on hard food and objects to grind them down. As a result of this constant eating and gnawing, Rattata bulk up considerably as they age. A mature Rattata will begin to shed the hair from their tails – though this might alarm inexperienced trainers who encounter this Pokemon early on their journey; however, it is actually a sign of a healthy, growing Rattata.

#019.5A - Rattata were accidentally introduced to Alola when the islands were first discovered by stowing away on ships. Once  in the Alolan wilds, the population exploded. To deal with this, Alolan natives imported another Pokemon to control the population, but instead of reducing in numbers, Rattata evolved over time to change their preferred environments and circadian rhythms. These adaptations led to a changed form, known outside of Alola as their Alolan Form. Alolan Rattata mature much like their normal-type cousins, though by living in urban habitats they have developed a discriminating palate - and a heftier body.
