The green dot could be “where someone falls” on this spectrum, and the yellow dots their views. It’s hard to even establish where the green dot would go, but based on this example it would be off-centered to the left a bit, despite still having views that align with Republicans from time to time.

People aren’t one-dimensional. Even if you “belong” to one party, you can still agree with the other.
