I love in Ace Attorney when you think you’ve got it all figured out and you’re a genius and your explanation is brilliant, and you actually choose the correct evidence, but then Phoenix says something entirely different and mind blowing that turns the entire case upside-down and you realize you’re not as brilliant, like,
Me: Obviously, what is odd about this photograph of the moment of murder is the pose! See, the victim is on his knees, and the murderer is standing in front of him holding the knife up, so there is no way the killer could have stabbed him in the back in that moment, and no way for the killer to end up trapped under the victim. So, this is the evidence!
Phoenix: Obviously, what is odd about this photograph of the moment of murder is…the knife! As you can see, the tip of the knife is broken. The knife presented here as evidence is missing the tip, which was found in the victim’s body. However, the autopsy report says he was stabbed once. *slams hands on table* So if that’s the case, the weapon should yet not be broken in this photograph! If the weapon had been broken beforehand, there’s no way its tip could have ended up there! However, because it’s undeniable the tip was found inside the victim’s body, yet this photograph contradicts such event, the explanation, therefore, must be that the knife presented as evidence… is not the actual murder weapon, and, what’s more- *slams hands on table* *points* This is forged evidence!
Me: ……………..yeH, that’s exactly what I meant!! Go, Phoenix!
