OJ was lounging on his couch in the main living area, watching TV with Paintbrush to his right. He slouched a bit into the couch’s comfortable covers before noticing Paper enter the room. OJ quickly straightened his back and smiled, patting the couch to the left of him. “Hey, Paper. You want to watch some TV?”
Paper blinked, quickly shifting his eyes between Paintbrush and OJ before eventually landing his gaze on the empty seat of the couch. “Uh, okay. Sure.” Paper slowly stepped towards the couch and sat down, giving only a couple of inches between himself and OJ.
Paper and OJ had recently started dating, but hadn’t told anyone yet. They were taking things slow; the only intimate thing they had done was hold hands. Paper was happy with how things were going, but he would always get too nervous whenever he wanted to advance past just hand-holding.
“I don’t know why Bucket just doesn’t go for it,” Paintbrush suddenly said. “It’s obvious she and Shovel like each other, they should just…” Paintbrush sighed. “Oh, who am I kidding, they aren’t going to get together for another 4 seasons or something, huh? They just like dragging these things out.”
“It keeps the drama up, though,” OJ replied. “I kinda like it.”
Paintbrush rolled their eyes. “Whatever. I guess I can deal with it for now. It is a good show.” Paintbrush slowly slipped off of the couch and turned to the other two. “I’m getting a soda. Do either of you want anything?”
Paper and OJ shook their heads and Paintbrush walked out of the room.
OJ waited a moment to ensure that Paintbrush was gone, then inched even closer to Paper. “So… what do you think? Do you think Bucket should go for it?”
Paper paused, keeping a deadpan stare on the TV screen as he processed what OJ just said. He turned incredibly slowly towards OJ, but then immediately pressed his lips against OJ’s. The kiss lasted only for a moment before Paper quickly brought himself back. “Y-yeah. I think she should go for it.”
OJ’s mouth hung open a bit as his orange juice produced a couple of bubbles and turned an orange-red color. After a moment, he finally smiled and said, “… Yeah. I think she should go for it, too.” OJ leaned forward and connected his lips to Paper’s again.
