Heartbreaking headcanon time: getting to observe his father’s trial that day was Miles’s big Christmas present that year.

For months he’s been begging to come with him one day, to finally see how it all works in person. Gregory always says he’s not sure if it’s possible, because he’s not, but as Christmas gets closer he becomes determined to make this happen for him. And he does- he manages to pull some strings and get permission to bring Miles to court on the 28th.

Miles has never been this excited. He can hardly sleep the night before; he’s just so sure that his life and his future career are going to be forever impacted by this day.
