Go OFF, mr mouth.

We are constantly trying to minimize the first four causes of death in the US through new procedures at hospitals, new vaccine techniques to stop the spread of the flu, more research into mental health, and improved car safety and regulations. In nearly every one of these other comparisons, there is an active and consistent effort to prevent mass deaths.

Most of these studies would be funded and run by the CDC, who would actively categorize and seek answers for why these deaths occur.

But not with guns.

deGrasse Tyson, as a scientist, should know that that scientists are LITERALLY NOT ALLOWED to research gun violence. The Dickey Amendment prevents the CDC from allotting any funds to research that could be considered pro-gun control.

As a scientist, that should PISS HIM OFF.

But no, he’s rather justify a white supremacist murdering innocent people because “Duh-ruh, the flu kills people too!”

That argument doesn’t work fucking ANYWHERE.

Not only on just a political and regulation-associated level, but what a shitty and insensitive thing to say.

People’s families, coworkers, children, and friends have died because of one man’s ideologies.

This isn’t “paying attention to spectacle more than data”. Mass shootings as a cause of white supremacy are becoming so frequent that they are considered the NORM (aka data). Also “spectacle”? What the fuck? People were murdered!

There’s a lot wrong with this tweet, informationally and morally. This “detached scientist intellectual-esque” tweet actually has me fuming.
