Idea: the concerning amount of times Clive gets slapped in Unwound Future actually has meaning. Each time he gets hit it symbolizes part of his life that is destroying him. When Layton slaps him it symbolizes destruction due to outside events. (the time machine accident) The time Bostro slaps him symbolizes self-destruction. He put himself willingly in that situation in order to make future Luke more believable. When he gets hit in the mobile fortress it’s the consequences of his actions.
