imagine having nintendo's boot so far down your throat you defend the disaster that is pokemon sword/shield. more expensive than any pokemon game in the past and majority of pokemon aren't even in the game. can't trade or battle anymore unless! you guessed it! you pay a subscription service now. now they release content that should've been in the game in the first place for a ridiculous price and you're already dying to throw more money at them. guess this is only underhanded and predatory to their consumer base when it's not your dear beloved nintendo
people really think this is better than releasing a new, actually completed game with all this content and more like they should've done in the first place because "it costs less"
pokemon games used to be $40. buying a second version would be $80, still expensive but it's not like you have to buy both, you could just wait. I don't know where they're getting this idea that adding dlc is cheaper when switch game is $60 dlc is $30, thats already $90 more than the cost of two entire pokemon games and if you have the online service for any longer than like a month you end up paying quite a bit. all for not even as much as you used to get for $40. it's a terrible predatory system and being complacent and continuing to buy their garbage like this only means it's gonna keep getting worse
