AU where every Azran owned place was cursed by the Azran themselves. Those to take any of their treasures without the purest intent became beasts of different varieties and thus Hershel is a dragon who guards the ruins Randall was ‘lost’ in from others to protect them from its dangers. 

Henry and Angela are not aware of this. Its assumed both Randall and Hershel died. Henry doesn’t believe the tales of the best that protects the ruins. Hes still searching.

Luke is sent to Monte d’Or years later with his mother in order to protect them from ‘the specter’ in their home town and Luke ends up stumbling across Layton because hes a troubled child thinking about a lot and the attacks from ‘the masked terror’ have only recently started. 

Its a weird au and a lot has changed in terms of the original story but its a fun one qvq.
