Some quick tips if you’re new to AC, because New Horizons doesn’t hold your hand like, at all
- When you complete a task, find a new creature, or craft an item, go talk to Nook. He’ll give you more things to do, try out, and recipes to learn ( your neighbors will give you recipes as well ).
- The big green tent in the plaza, don’t just interact with the workbench, click the box in the bottom left corner, and the ATM in the bottom right, both will introduce you to the recycle system ( where you can get items of use to no one else ), and the bells system ( which will also allow you to collect bells from trees ).
- When you get the axe, only hit the tree three times, this is all you can get out of it, at least with the starter axe ( and your axe will break eventually, like the net and fishing rod )
- Fishing takes patience, and knowing exactly where to cast it at the right time.
- You will shake a lotta trees. So you will no doubt run into the dreaded wasp nest. Talk to one of your neighbors, and they should take pity on you if you’ve been stung, and should also give you a recipe for medicine.
- Keep checking your Nook Phone. Little dots will light up on the icons when an app has updated. Click on it, esp the Mileage one, and scroll all the way through it to collect your miles.
I’ve only played a few hours, but luckily I clued in pretty quick on how to unlock new interactions and recipes. Hopefully this little bit I found out helps, and feel free to correct me or add more if you feel like it.
