steven universe season 1 had really funny writing and a humor style that sort of disappeared in seasons after, what happened

like sure steven was much more annoying but the jokes/gags and timing of them in season 1 i feel were just written in such a way that was unlike anything after. like....dry humor ig?? idk this is so funny
