We all already know that Descole is a huge drama queen, but the ending of Miracle Mask was obviously one of his biggest "here for the drama" moments.
I mean, almost the whole game he was disguised as Angela, and you know what that even makes some sense.
He probably wanted to make sure that Randall's miracles worked and that his plan was going smoothly.
HOWEVER
The moment the Masked Gentlemans Identity was revealed, Randall's final miracle failed, the Sand was stopped and everyone, including the police, gathered in front of the museum Descole should have known that everything was over.
But instead of, you know, escaping while no one's looking and not risk getting arrested, what does he do instead?
He fucking stays there.
He just stands around, listens to the whole Randall and Layton backstory, and waits until Layton tells everyone that Angela is actually Descole before he actually does something.
But even then, instead of going "oh shit now everyone knows, time to go" he's just having a little chat with Layton.
And when he finally escapes, he's just like: "well, that was nice, until next time!" And jumps away.
Nothing he did in this ending made sense, he simply wanted to be there when shit goes down.
Man I love this Character.
