Knuckles and Affection

I've made an executive decision that Knuckles is a child who needs to be taught how to show affection. Because he was raised as a warrior, and his love language (throw back to @smallpwbbles' post) is often times defending those he considers family.

He'd do anything for them. Take a bullet for them. Stand between them and danger.

His love language, his way of showing that they are absolutely adored, is by proving that he will go above and beyond to keep them safe.

And that is absolutely the softest, sweetest idea

UN-FUCKING-TIL

he ends up breaking every single appliance in the house because he can't tell the difference between a technical glitch and a personal attack.

Which means that it is entirely plausible that Tom could come down the stairs to find Knuckles mid-breakdown while he goes absolutely ham on some random kitchen appliance.

Maddie: "The coffee maker burned my hand..."

Tom: 😑

Knuckles, still pinning the Keurig to the floor, absolutely sobbing: "DISHONORABLE. TRAITOROUS. APOLOGIZE TO MOTHER, NOW. APOLOGIZE!"
