Hi all!

Discord’s new app has removed an accessibility feature, which is very frustrating. I use Discord frequently and now struggle a lot with the mobile site.

[Image Description: A series of screenshots of text and a few images starting with the words "Low vision people deserve access too, Discord," over the Discord logo. The text continues: "For years now, Discord has not adapted to Enlarged Text on their mobile app. I contacted them about this two and a half years ago, and nothing has changed. Discord is one of my favorite apps, and I have forgone a more comfortable experience myself in order to be able to continue using it. I have kept my phone's text settings small enough that I can use Discord even though it makes things hard for me to read. This morning I woke up to find that the app had updated, and despite using the lowest enlarged text setting my phone offers, the app no longer is syncing correctly with it. I can no longer see channel names."

Below this is a screenshot of Kii's iPhone settings showing that they are an enlarged text user. This screenshot is labeled "my text size" Also shows screenshot of Discord cutting off words when accessing their channels on mobile. This screenshot is labeled "what I see".

After this, the text continues: "Discord was publicly receptive to feedback when I contacted them. However, they told me this would only be resolved if this was a "popular" update, AKA, if enough people upvoted this on their forum. I have to make something "popular" before accessibility features are implemented, which doesn't feel right to me. However, at this point, I just want to be able to use the app again, and I want other blind and low vision people to be able to use it as well.

Below this is a screenshot of a tweet from @kiicosplays dated January 19th, 2020 reading "hey @discordapp, I love that your app supports dynamic text for blind and low vision users, but this doesn't quite work. The text disappears from all the channels once the text is enlarged." There are two screenshots showing a visual of the problem. On January 19th, 2020, @discord responded "Thanks for sharing this with us! Indeed not very nie [sic] :( We're always trying to improve the app and make it as inclusive as possible. For a detailed bug report, can you please reach out at dia.gd/contact ?" This screenshot is labeled as "Discord's public response, 2020."

After this the text continues: "If you could take under a minute to upvote the post in their forum, it would be much appreciated. If you're not a Discord user, interactions that appease the IG algorithm are always appreciated. Link: https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/6615728987799-Enlarged-Text. Sincerely,

a sad and frustrated pal with cataracts."
