I think every “body language expert” should be stoned to death by the autistic community
Some of you are fundamentally misunderstanding this post
this isnt about autistics who understand body language more then expressions as they take things case by case with who their talking to
this is about experts who think body language can tell you everything from wether someones lying to fucking mental illnesses.
these are people who think scratching your chin while talking about the weather means you have NPD
these are people who base criminal investigations based on body language alone which has gotten people wrongfully convicted
the classic ‘telltale signs’ of lying are also common neurodivergent behaviors wether intentional or not
yes looking to the side could mean someones lying
or that their autistic and hate eye contact
scratching could mean lying
or it could be anxiety or a harmful stim
tapping a foot could be nervousness about lying
or it could just be the goddamn adhd
no facial expression could mean they are lying and not putting the proper emotion becuase of that
or they could have a form of ASPD or autism that leads to facial expressions being lower to nonexistant
its all dependant oh my god and also this is a direct violent vauge to true crime youtubers and bloggers all of you contribute to this

Not to mention that different cultures have different learned body language, in a lot of cases. Not everyone is American.
Body language “experts” just want to throw more people into the already fucked prison system because of “rules” they made up.
