getting increasingly uncomfortable with the way a lot of non mlm will say shit that borders on or straight up is homophobia and then excuse it with “well cis gay men are privileged so it’s okay for me to say this.” no it’s not. mocking gay men for talking about loneliness or homophobia or their families not accepting them isn’t punching up. being disgusted by gay sex when it involves at least one penis or anal sex or kink isn’t punching up. it’s just being an asshole at best and homophobic at worst. being queer yourself does not exempt you from falling for homophobic rhetoric.

case in point. y’all see a single mention of queer men and your brain immediately goes to “sex addicts!!!!!!! predator!!!!!!!! sexual deviants!!!!!!!! must keep them away from the poor innocent victim women!!!!!!!!!!” USE A SINGLE FUCKING BRAIN CELL PLEASE!!!!!!!

"No one needs to know your sexual preference" is LITERALLY homophobic rhetoric that is used to keep queer people from self expressing their queerness in public spaces. You know what my dad said once when my male friends were getting too cosy at a cookout? "I don't care if you're queer just don't do it here". At the same cookout where he danced with his wife and where my brother had his wife on his lap at one point.

Y'all are literally recycling homophobic rhetoric and thinking it's woke because the radfems made you think that nothing is bad if it's against men.

Not just "No one needs to know your sexual preference". "No one needs to know your sexual preference unless it's kids or animals."

Because you know, it's not like gay men have ever had to deal with homophobic rhetoric calling all of us dogfuckers and child rapists. Not like that specific form of dehumanization and debasement didn't completely control the narrative of gay men's lives in the greater public opinion until barely over a decade ago.

"No one needs to know your sexual preference unless it's kids or animals." Can any of you ever sit down and hear what it is you're saying when you use the words you use? You aren't saying, "I'm not homophobic, but I don't support zoophiles or pedophiles". You're saying "I'm being homophobic because I am intrinsically equating gay men openly being gay to them being zoophiles and pedophiles."
