I feel like any time someone rich and powerful does something incredibly stupid you can typically find hot takes like "oh actually this person is a secret genius, in a roundabout way all of this shit that makes them look like an absolute assclown actually marginally benefits them" but then almost always time and lawsuits reveal that no, they aren't a scheming, manipulative mastermind, they're just an impulsive moron with cash to burn that was making dumb decisions willy nilly the whole time
