The subtitles of the new Puss in Boots are SO BAD. Literally every single instance of anyone saying anything in Spanish, even just a single word, is replaced with [speaking Spanish].

There is a character who throughout most of the movie is known as Perro or Perrito and even that gets replaced with [speaking Spanish]. So a deaf person watching this movie would have NO IDEA what the other characters were calling him!! It’s ridiculous.
Anyway here’s an srt file with accurate Spanish that I made. Enjoy.
it’s actually standard policy in captioning to not caption words in foreign languages. like ive never done any captions directly for a client, but all the 3rd party freelance places have VERY strict policies that will actually dock you if you put the spanish in. i’m not defending that, i dont really understand why they do it and i think it’s very stupid when i have to do it, but the point is it’s not just a case of “the subtitles for this movie are poorly done” or “the captioner was too lazy to look it up,” its a deliberate choice that the entire industry is making that needs to change.
