I never thought I’d make a post like this, but here I am.

My friend Kelly is 16 and has 2 years to live.

Kelly is an inspiring, artistic, clever and beautiful girl.

She has been diagnosed with Desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) in October 2015. It’s a rare, aggressive cancer that usually begins in the abdomen. It’s so rare that only 20 adolescents in USA are diagnosed with it a year.

Our friend Kelly has been through 9 rounds of chemotherapy but the tumors are close to her liver. The operation is not possible in UK.

THERE IS HOPE.

There is hope in The University College Hospital @ London, The MSK @ New York and possibly Christies @ Manchester.

The surgery in USA is not covered by insurance and so we have to found it. We need you to help. We need £1million for this to happen. We have 80 days. We need help.

Felt the need to signal boost this again. According to this update, the hospital has taken scans and confirmed that they can and will do the surgery, but the family is only at about 10% of their goal. Please give if you can, and share Kelly’s story if you can’t. I can’t imagine what it feels like to know something could save your life but also knowing that you can’t afford it. No one deserves to go through suffering like this. Let’s do what we can to see that Kelly won’t have to, either.

I CANNOT believe how much resistance they’re facing.

People are worried about their property values when these young boys have literally been sold as sex slaves and raped and abused in who knows how many other ways. They just need a safe place to heal and protection while they testify against their abusers so we can put the actual criminals in prison.

And people are worried about them “taking their medicine” like we’re trying to cure them of something. These are trafficking victims. But apparently people are more worried about these boys than they are about making sure the people who abused them go to prison.

I love that every few months this post gets another surge of notes, and now is good a time as any to give an update.

In late Fall last year, the area of North Carolina where this house is set to be opened experienced a lot of very bad flooding. This has set them back. They wanted to be open by now, but they have finished restoring the house and are now working on furnishing it so they can open soon.

The link above is broken, so here is an updated one. You can see they now have a registry for Target and Walmart open. If you want to donate by buying items they need to furnish it, you can do so this way.

i know that i haven’t made a personal post in a while, but i’m desperate and out of options. i am very scared.

there’s a person in my home that, two days ago, kept threatening me with violence. i’m 5′2 and he’s … much bigger and taller. he almost threw glass at me, at one point he pulled out a weapon on me because i took my mom’s room (that she offered) and he threatened to pay someone to beat me up

i can’t do this anymore. before i had the option of a gofundme or a youcaring or sharing my cash.me link i had a whole suicide note drawn up, but something in me told me to do this so i’m going for it and i really hope it works out because otherwise, i have no other options and i CANNOT do it for much longer.

i’ve been locked in my room for days. i only leave to drink water or go to the bathroom. i don’t even eat because he occupies the living room and i’d have to pass him to get to the kitchen, which is what pissed him off enough to send him on a rant threatening to end my life. nobody in my family likes the cops (for obvious reasons) and i need my laptop as that’s really one of the few material posessions i have and need for school.

my last meal was yesterday because my sister bought me food, but idk when i can be able to eat again and i’m scared because i haven’t been downstairs eating regularly since may and i’ve lost probably 20+ pounds

i need $900. I have $95. So, a little over 10% of the way there, but still not enough. i’d hope to get it by the end of this month, but as soon as possible. $900 would go towards the deposit and rent of an apartment i’d share with 2 friends, plus any other utility or moving costs. my scholarship and my job that starts August 6th will pay off the rest in august but i have to leave asap because i can’t do this much longer.

I haven’t logged onto tumblr in a long long time but I’ve been having a really bad time and I’m in desperate need of help.

I’m currently being kicked out of the house that I’ve been staying in for the past 2 years due to space issues and now I’m facing the threat of going back to living with my parents. If you don’t know how EXTREMELY bad this is for me - I’m gay, and my parents have tortured me over it both physically and psychologically. Going back to live with them would put my mental health and safety in grave danger and I’m not sure if I will even be able to survive it again. I have attempted suicide while living under their roof due to the conditions that they put me under and I would honestly rather live in the streets than to go back there again.

I have found a place to stay, but they demand that I immediately pay the first month’s rent as well as the deposit. I have just barely enough to cover the deposit, but not the first month’s rent which is around 500 USD. I will be able to support myself after the first month but right now, basically:

I have to come up with 500 USD before the end of June.

I’m completely desperate right now. I knew this information well before June even began but I never even considered posting an ad here on tumblr because I hate asking people for money as I have nothing to give in return. I really don’t know what I can do to pay anyone back. I can reblog more aesthetic photos, write you a letter, draw something, I don’t know - anything. I’m desperate right now and this is my last hope.

my partner and i (both trans, neurodivergent, traumatized and multiply physically disabled) are over $2000 in credit card debt and have less than $50 altogether. we live off of my partner’s disability benefits which are already $200 less than we need to even pay our rent. i was gonna do survival s*x w*rk but right now i’m not well enough so i’m completely out of options
