Carrying around 33 pounds is equivalent to carrying about four gallons of water at 8.64 lbs each! That’s like lugging around a small aquarium, or an entire cinder block. Compare that, also, to the weight of your average house cat, which is about 8 lbs. Clearly, when it’s put into the proper perspective, the Samurai Spear can be seen a reasonably heavy object.

And, when you compound this information with the fact that Edgeworth surprised me by throwing the spear to me, you’ll see in fact that I’m not weak at all, but that my ability to lift is completely average!

Take that, Your Honor!

The court accepts the defense’s explanation. What say you, Mr. Edgeworth?

image

…Hmph.

image

What is there left to say? Mr. Wright was taken unaware by the weight of the spear, and compounded with the momentum from the throw, it’s understandable that he couldn’t have caught it without hassle.

image

That being said, the very fact he was able to maintain grip on the spear upon catching it suggests that he was in fact quite capable of bearing its weight…

image

…and would have no excuse to explain why he dropped straight to the floor, still clutching the spear in both hands.

image

Well, Wright? What excuse will you provide for the court this time!?

Mr Edgeworth, regardless if Mr Wright could or could not withstand the weight of 33 lbs, the fact remains you threw the spear at him.

image

Any person would have been off-balanced when 33 lbs of any sort of object was hurled at him or her, regardless of how much weight they can lift and hold!

It’s simple physics, Mr Edgeworth!
