This image goes around the casual hamtaro rememberer circles often and it bothers me so much. First of all that design was introduced in like 2005 and mostly only used from 2006 to 2008 (for the short-lived Haai cgi series) afaik. Tbh hamtaro was not up to much in 2011, except for the ORIGINAL fat hamtaro TV show being re-aired as Dechu. And even Dechu's revamped opening has pretty chubby hamhams
Anyway, yes he did have this phase of his life but it was a pretty short one and he has been back to being a fat creature much longer. But really even his Haai skinny form is cute. Look at him in the DS game
Is it the superior hamtaro? No. But he does not deserve to be ratio'd for his short existence.
