I finally got my hands on a Professor Layton game and I’m a fan! Although there are puzzles literally everywhere (that’s the point I’m guessing?) and they are fairly difficult.. I’m having fun! I wish I got on this bandwagon earlier!

Here’s the chronological order of the games so you won’t be lost in the series:
Main Trilogy-Curious Village, Diabolical Box (US)/Pandora’s box (UK), Unwound Future (US)/Lost Future (UK)
Prequel Trilogy- Last Specter (US)/Specter’s Call (UK), Eternal Diva (movie), Miracle Mask, Azran Legacies
New Trilogy- Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire Conspiracy (this game stars Professor Layton’s daughter, Katrielle Layton, as the protagonist), next game is yet to be announced but will be coming out next year in 2018
Spin-off game: Layton Brothers Mystery Room (this game stars Professor Layton’s son, Alfendi Layton, as the protagonist and the game is actually very dark and violent than your usual Professor Layton game).
There’s also an anime series of Layton’s Mystery Journey (the one that stars the professor’s daughter) that’ll come out next year as well.
