This is a very old drawing (2015ish). It’s from when we were first conceptualizing this standoff between Lapis and Blue Diamond. This must also be around the time we were tying down Blue’s design while we were storyboarding ‘Steven’s Dream’! These things take a long time guys. Did you know we’ve been working on a movie for over a year now??? Crazy!

At first I was a little bothered by how unevenly split the Diamond’s ships are with Pink having an entire lower half, white having a torso and head, while Blue and Yellow just have arms. But thinking on it I think it’s actually a clever way of showing different types of thinking.
Blue has a left arm, representing right brain thinking
Yellow has a right arm, for left brain thinking
White thinks with her head
Pink thinks with h

A sketch that went a liiiiittle too far. But worth it in my opinion.
But yeah-White Diamond is like, officially one of my favorites now.
